Former employee kills one at Michigan trucking company, steals semi at gunpoint, kills one other

A man is currently in police custody after fatally shooting two people and stealing a semi truck from a Taylor, Michigan, trucking company at gunpoint.

Former Employee Kills Two
According to police in Taylor, a 45 year old former employee entered BSD Linehaul Michigan Inc. around 10:30 a.m. today and opened fire. A current employee was killed by the gunfire, taking multiple shots to the back. A police source says that the man who was killed was a manager.

Taylor Police Chief John Blair said, “He was a disgruntled employee who had had problems previously at the location. It appears today he came back for some sort of vengeance.” After fatally shooting the employee, the suspect reportedly stole a truck from one of the company’s driver’s at gunpoint. “For lack of a better term, he carjacked a semi. He pulled another person off at gunpoint,” said Blair. The suspect is said to have driven that truck to a business called Aluminum Blanking in Pontiac, where he allegedly shot another person. That person has reportedly died as a result of gunshot wounds. Suspect Taken Into Custody Following Standoff With Police
After this, the suspect visited trucking company Assured Carriers in Waterford Township and asked for a person who wasn’t at the location at the time. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department was able to track the suspect down and take him into custody following a pursuit that resulted in a multi-vehicle crash and shootout in Waterford. The suspect is in the hospital receiving treatment for a gunshot wound. He is expected to survive. Police say that the suspect was armed with an assault rifle when he was arrested. Police report that the suspect threatened workers at BSD Linehaul with a gun back in November, but that no shots were fired. They have also confirmed that he was fired from BSD Linehaul. Michigan State Police will be joining in the investigation into this incident.
