Missing 46-Year-Old Truck Driver Found Shot To D*ath, Two People In Police Custody

Officials have now confirmed they have found the body of 46-year-old truck driver Roderick Crawford who went missing on Friday, December 28. According to Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore, Mr. Crawford’s body was discovered shot to death behind an Upson County mobile home in the Lincoln Park area of Thomaston at about 9.p.m. Thursday evening. Kilgore said two people, Cameron Jones, 20, and Keira Williams, 18, have been taken into custody in connection with Crawford’s death. Investigators reveal Williams works as an escort and Crawford met her through an online dating website. Officials suspect Crawford drove to Upson County to meet Williams and was confronted by both Jones and Williams where he was then murdered. Before he was discovered, Crawford was last seen by his family in the afternoon hours on December 28.

Crawford told his three boys he was driving to Craft Flower Mill, 4 miles from his home, in order check his work schedule. Roderick worked for J&M Tank Lines based in Birmingham, Alabama. After learning of Crawford’s death, his family released a statement which reads: “The family of Roderick Crawford would like to express sincere gratitude to those who have shown so much love and kindness in this last week. We have experienced the true meaning of community. We send a special expression of gratitude to the law enforcement officers who worked diligently to provide answers to so many unanswered questions. We do not understand the reasons for this and we ask that everyone remember Roderick as he lived his life for 46 years; as a son, brother, father, husband, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

We continue to pray that God will bless us with peace and understanding. We ask that those around us remain caring and compassionate as we heal from this unspeakable tragedy.” Investigators have not revealed a motive for the killing yet. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to handle the investigation. This is a developing story and the investigation is ongoing.
