A semi’s trailer overturned blocking both lanes of traffic on SR 119 near the intersection with CR 38, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department. Semi trailer containing 5,000 gallons of milk left the road, ran into a ditch and overturned along Ind. 119, just west of C.R. 38 Friday afternoon.Deputies said the semi driver made an improper turn, causing the trailer to leave the road. Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department deputies closed down the road until the tanker could be removed. At 3:15 p.m., the sheriff’s department restricted C.R. 38 eastbound from C.R. 13, Ind. 119 southwest of C.R. 15 and C.R. 38 westbound from C.R. 15 to residents only. At 4:15 p.m., the sheriff’s department posted on its website that milk was being pumped into another truck, with an estimate of 45 minutes to one hour before pumping would be complete.
