Two sent to hospital following Snyder County crash

Two people were sent to a area hospitals following a violent crash that has shut down a portion of Route 235 on Thursday. Two LifeFlight helicopters were called to the scene of the two-vehicle crash along Route 235 in Spring Township, Snyder County this morning, just south of Beaver Springs.According to Beaver Springs Assistant Fire Chief Emery Troyer, a tractor-trailer carrying a load of wood was traveling north on 235, while an SUV was heading south. Troyer said it is unclear how the accident occurred. State police are on the scene investigating. Piles of wood are littered along Route 235 and Troyer expects crews to be on the scene of the crash for several hours. The landing zone was set up at West Snyder Elementary School.
