Driver of tractor trailer killed after crash in Darke County

Officials said 75-year-old Wilbur Miller of Goshen, Indiana, was killed in this crash. They said his vehicle went off the right side of he road and went into a ditch. He then reportedly overcorrected, went back off the right side of the road and hit a tree before stopping. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

DARKE COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) – Investigators are working to figure out what caused a crash in Darke County that killed the driver of a tractor trailer. The crash was reported just after 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of Rismiller and North Star Fort Loramie Roads in Rossburg. The area is northeast of Greenville. Authorities say the driver was hauling seed corn. It’s unclear if the crash was weather related, a witness reports that the truck went off the road before the crash. Authorities say the driver went off the right side of the road, over-corrected and went back on the road, then went off the road and hit a tree. 

According to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, the driver had just dropped off a load of seed corn about a mile down the road from the crash site. The identity of the driver is not being released.

The crash shut down the road for several hours.
