A Nebraska man has charged for causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to a semi truck and other vehicles during a strange outburst that was caught on camera. The incident happened around 4 p.m. on Friday, January 25, in Grand Island, Nebraska when 32 year old Salvador Gonzalez stopped traffic and began attacking vehicles.
From the Grand Island Police Department report on the incident: “Salvador walked onto westbound Hwy 30 traffic causing vehicles to stop in order to avoid striking him. Salvador then struck the hood of a Prius causing damage. Salvador climbed onto the side of a stock trailer throwing items at the confined cattle in the truck. Salvador approached the driver of the truck making inappropriate comments and screaming incoherently and attempting to get into the truck, thus disturbing the peace of the victim. Salvador climbed onto the top of the semi hitting and jumping on the top of the semi causing damage. Salvador slid down the front of the semi, damaging the antenna. Salvador also kicked the front of the semi, striking the steel cattle guard plate not causing any damage.” Gonzalez was later arrested and charged with criminal mischief, disturbing the peace, and pedestrian interfering with the flow of traffic. The incident reportedly caused $5000 worth of damage to the semi truck. The Prius incurred about $1500 worth of damage, according to NTV. Police say that they believe that Gonzalez was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident, with methamphetamine being the most likely substance.
