ROLLA, Mo. — MoDOT says a semi crash on I-44 in Rolla, Mo. did not damage the bridge.
Troopers responded to the crash around 7 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the U.S. 63 overpass. Authorities closed one lane of I-44 to remove the truck and inspect the bridge.
Troopers say the driver of the semi was going too fast for the wet conditions. The driver told investigators he started to slide and ran off the interstate. The truck then hit a post and guardrail trailer. It then hit the bridge support. The driver did not suffer any injuries.
The truck was carrying empty plastic bottles.
