This week, Peterbilt unveiled its new Model 579 UltraLoft designed with driver experience as its focus.
The 579 UltraLoft features an exterior designed to maximize efficiency, providing a “2-percent aerodynamic improvement to push the limits of efficiency even further while maintaining the styling and bold look of the Model 579.” Driver Comfort Was Driving Force Behind 579 UltraLoft Design, Says Peterbilt. It’s the 579 UltraLoft’s interior, however, that is creating the most buzz. Peterbilt boasts that the 579 UltraLoft offers the industry’s largest storage capacity — as much as 70 cubic feet. The floor to ceiling distance is more than eight feet. The bunk holds an 82 inch mattress, the largest in the industry. From Peterbilt: “Driver experience is the focus in the maximized space of the UltraLoft through industry-leading storage volume and comfort. The UltraLoft gives drivers the largest upper and lower bunk mattresses, best-in-class headroom in both bunks, class leading storage space and some creature comforts of home with space to accommodate a 1.1 cubic foot microwave and enough room to fit flat screen TVs up to 32-inches.” Kyle Quinn, Peterbilt Motors Company General Manager and PACCAR Senior Vice President notes, “The UltraLoft was designed and tested in close collaboration with customers and drivers. The UltraLoft delivers a premium environment while maintaining the distinctive Peterbilt style. I am confident drivers will fully embrace this new home away from home.”
