A crash Tuesday morning on Highway 46 East near Jardine Road in Paso Robles has caused major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash happened about 11 a.m. and was between a pickup truck and a semi truck, according to the CHP’s dispatch log. According to officials on the scene, the crash happened when a pickup towing a trailer made a left turn from Jardine Road onto Highway 46 East. The truck then cut all the way to the right lane of the highway, right in front of a semi truck. The semi’s driver wasn’t able to stop in time and collided with the back of the trailer, officials said. The impact pushed the trailer into the pickup, unhitched the trailer and caused the pickup to roll over several times into the grass.The rollover crushed the pickup’s cab and the driver was seriously injured.
