Since 10 a.m., Thursday, Montana Highway 200 has been reduced to a single lane after a semi truck slid off icy roads on the east side of Rogers Pass. The Montana Highway Patrol cleared the scene, and the Montana Department of Transportation is wrestling with site clean up. The road was slated to have both lanes open by 5 p.m., but the road conditions report still indicates blocked lanes as of 7 p.m. The wreck was not fatal. It was reported as a non-injury crash.
The department reported the semi and trailer is back on the roadway and awaiting removal. The guard rail suffered significant damage, it’s believed. Staff hasn’t had a chance to evaluate the rail or roadway damage. We’ll update as we learn more.
