Sleeping semi-truck driver hits light pole on E-470

KUSA – Colorado State Patrol says a driver who appears to have fallen asleep hit a light pole on E-470 Tuesday morning and then rolled into a center median.

CSP first tweeted about the crash at around 10 a.m. Troopers say it happened just before the exit for 104th Avenue.

A Hazmat team has been called to the scene due to a report of a fuel leak, according to CSP.

The crash closed the left lane of the highway.

CSP has said what charges, if any, the driver of the truck might face.

The driver wasn’t injured, CSP said.
