One person was killed and an 18-wheeler carrying chickens was left hanging off a bridge after colliding with a car in South Carolina, according to officials.
Troopers said the crash happened at 4:32 p.m. Monday in Anderson County, South Carolina.
Officials on scene said the truck was carrying chickens from Anderson County to a processing plant in Greenville County.
Officials said some of the chickens fell into the lake and most will not make it to the processing plant.
The road will be blocked off for hours as crews work to repair the heavily damaged guard rail on the bridge. Officials said if they can’t fix the guard rail, the state Department of Transportation will not allow drivers on that road until it is safe.
