Tractor-trailer pins car on I-4 in downtown Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – An 80,000-pound tractor-trailer pinned a car early Tuesday in a collision in the westbound lanes of Interstate 4 in downtown, the Orlando Police Department said. The crash was reported shortly after 5:45 a.m. near State Road 408, Orlando police Lt. Brian Donohue said. Firefighters spent about an hour trying to rescue a man from the crushed car, Donohue said.

Firefighters said the man was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Official said the man is fortunate to have survived the crash. Police said eastbound lanes of I-4 and SR 408 weren’t affected by the crash

Westbound lanes of I-4 were reopened shortly after 8:15 a.m. The crash remains under investigation. No other details were given
