Police and fire officials said the other driver slid on an icy U.S. 26 just east of downtown Sandy and hit the trucker.
A truck driver was hit by a vehicle on U.S. 26 while he was putting chains on his tires Wednesday morning. The other driver slid on the icy road just east of downtown Sandy and hit the trucker at about 7:45 a.m. The truck driver was taken to Mt. Hood Medical Center with serious injuries to his lower extremities, police said. He is expected to survive.
