A truck driver lost his life this morning in a multi-vehicle crash that shut down I-30 in Dallas, Texas, this morning. The crash happened around 6 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-30.
According to WFFA, four passenger vehicles and a semi truck collided in the eastbound lanes of the interstate. The chain reaction crash left the cab of the truck hanging off of the interstate. Witness reported seeing a fireball and plumes of heavy black smoke.

The truck driver was ejected during the crash. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
One person in one of the cars involved in the crash was also taken to the hospital. Hazmat crews are on scene working to clean up spilled fuel. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Massive traffic backups have been reported in the area. Eastbound I-30 is closed at E. Grand Avenue while crews work to clean up the crash. No traffic is being allowed on the roadway below the crash. Cleanup is expected to take several hours.
